Enjoy an AzAmazing Evening ® of Caribbean culture just steps from the ship. As you walk along the pier, a drum band sets the cadence en route to the venue. On arrival, choose a Fruit Punch (non-alcoholic) or a Rum Punch (alcoholic), then settle in as a steelpan ensemble warms the stage for Sint Maarten’s cultural icon, Leroy “King Beau Beau” Brooks. He shares the spotlight with the “Sugar Apple” band, whose mix of styles reflects the island’s blend of influences. Home to more than 120 nationalities, Sint Maarten speaks many musical languages: zouk, soca, calypso, reggae, salsa, bachata, bolero, and son cubano. Bring your dancing shoes; the rhythms invite you to move. Feathered costumes, “moko jumbies” on stilts, and the bright ring of the steelpan bring the celebration to life in a colorful showcase of sound and movement.
