Enjoy an easy-going exploration of Dominica that manages to include some of the island’s most spectacular landmarks. Begin with a drive up the steep road leading to the Morne Bruce Viewpoint. Here, you’ll soak up sweeping vistas overlooking Roseau and the turquoise sea beyond. Be sure to set your camera to panoramic mode to capture this breathtakingly vast perspective. From here, travel to the island’s Botanical Gardens, established in 1881. Enjoy a tour that showcases the hallmarks of this verdant oasis, including the fascinating “crushed bus“, which lies beneath a tremendous Baobab Tree, felled during Hurricane David in 1979. From here journey deep into the rainforest to reach Jacko Falls where you will enjoy a tasting of local fruits and island rum punch. An easy 30-yard stroll takes you to the viewing platform. Or trek down 57 steps to the inviting pool below and experience this wonderfully wild setting with a brisk swim.
