Your adventure begins with a drive through the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Established in 1890, this 40-acre oasis is Roseau’s largest area of green space and home to over 50 types of indigenous plants and imported trees. After, head to Trafalgar, known for the majestic twin Trafalgar Falls, which cascade side by side down into the deep gorges they’ve carved for themselves. Then, it’s time to journey on to the Emerald Pool. Located in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Emerald Pool is a wonderful waterfall grotto reached by an easy 20 minute hike through magnificent overhanging trees and lush vegetation. You’ll be able to swim right up to the 40-foot waterfall in this beautiful pool which appears green in the tree-filtered sunlight. Highlights: • Look out for Hurricane David’s “signature,“ the twisted remains of a large bus crushed beneath a massive Baobab Tree. • View the twin Trafalgar Falls as they cascade side by side into the deep gorges they have carved for themselves. • Swim in the Emerald Pool, a wonderful waterfall grotto that’s reached by an easy 20-minute hike through magnificent overhanging trees and lush vegetation.
